Magian was responsible for designing and producing soundscapes for all galleries in the World of Ecology exhibition at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
Magian also designed, developed and produced the technical infrastructure and software to simulate a storm leading to a flash flood in the Desert Gallery. The flash flood system designed by Magian is programmed to coordinate sound, lighting and water pumps. The system also monitors the water level in the tanks and synchronises this dramatic event to scheduled times.
In addition Magian was responsible for designing, developing and producing a complex diver control system that allows education staff to control presentations to visitors in front of major aquarium exhibits – notably the large Reef Tank exhibit.
The Magian diver control system creates connections between educators in front of the tanks, two divers within the tank and a diver tender situated above the tank to monitor diver safety.
Educators are able to personally adjust the EQ and volume levels, to switch between divers and the tender as well as manage and direct visitor questions and comments to the divers. The system also allows for complex safety systems and emergency procedures in case of accidents.
The Magian DiAC System is used to manage and control the dynamic randomised soundscapes as well as the flash flood program and the diver control system.
