Magian Design Studio worked with the Exhibit Team at Wildlife Conservation Society to design a conceptual and technical framework for the media installations for the Tiger Mountain Exhibit at the Zoo.
This work supported an Institute of Museum and Library services Grant to finance the implementation of the media for the Tiger Mountain exhibition at Bronx Zoo.
The Tiger Mountain exhibition interpretation concentrates on communicating the complex relationships between people and animals through story-telling and the celebration of the majesty and splendor of the tigers. Magian also produced touchscreens, interactive games, soundscapes, videos and a camera trap touchscreen program. Magian designed the technical infrastructure for the multimedia in the exhibition.
Conservation is the key message for this outdoor exhibition which also has two viewing pavilions which are integrated into the visitor path. The exhibits and graphics team at WCS provided graphic guidelines for the touchscreen interfaces.
Magian worked with staff to integrate the media, develop content scripts and multimedia programs as well as edit the original video footage gathered from a number of footage libraries including that of the Zoo itself.
Sound was provided from Magian's extensive sound library of recordings made on location around the world and all of the programs in Tiger Mountain operate within the Magian MMaP and DiAC Systems.
