MAPS is a high-tech theme park with a theme of animation and the technology used to produce it. It is the first theme park in the world to feature its own in-park TV station with live content broadcast throughout the park on eleven jumbo sized LED screens.
MAPS Live Broadcast TV (MAPSiTV) is intended to enhance the guest experience in the park and allow management and operational staff to be connected to guests both before they visit and after they leave the park.
Magian was contracted to design the technical infrastructure and to create the software for the live broadcast system throughout the park. Three full-time staff, a Producer/Director, a Video Editor and Audio Editor are responsible for mixing and editing live and pre-recorded content before sending it on the park-wide fibre optic network for broadcast on the large screens throughout the Park.
A number of cameramen move around the Park capturing live footage of performances and guest interviews around the park. At least one fixed HD camera in each entertainment zone adds to the content being delivered live around the Park.
Content being shown on the large screens includes live music, dance performances, interviews with guests, celebrities and performers including the stunt show drivers.
Pre-recorded promotions for upcoming events, cartoon clips to promote attractions and guests photos are interspersed with the live feeds. An "info-text" ticker strip on the large LED screens provides the latest news and weather, etc.
Magian was also contracted to design, produce and implement two smartphone APPS. One is a comprephensive visitor quide with information about the park, its attractions and faciltiies. The APP has links to ticketing, queue management and restaurant booking systems.
Another is a game APP to promote the program at the Stunt Legends Arena attraction. The game has 3 levels to allow users to improve their on-screen stunt car driving on an increasingly challenging course.
